That’s Quarrio, a conversational analytics startup. Our development team is looking for a Security Engineer to analyze software designs and evaluate implementations from a security perspective, and make recommendations for enhancements. In short, to identify and resolve security issues. The candidate should provide the appropriate security analysis, then propose defense and countermeasures at each phase of the software development lifecycle. The goal is to ensure a robust and reliable software product that protects customer data.


  • Implement, test and provide customer guidance in the operation of advanced software security techniques.
  • Ensure security measures are developed in compliance with technical reference architecture.
  • Perform on-going security testing and code review of software security measures.
  • Utilize appropriate level of knowledge of OWASP and ISO standards to meet customer requirements in specific markets.
  • Ensure the development of appropriate test plans, then troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise.
  • Review and contribute to development at all levels of the architecture for natural language processing and machine learning software.
  • Implement secure coding practices in source code.
  • Develop a familiarity with new tools and best practices.


  • Proven work experience as a software security engineer.
  • Detailed technical knowledge of techniques, standards and state-of-the art capabilities for authentication and authorization, applied cryptography, security vulnerabilities and remediation.
  • Software development experience in the following languages: Java, JavaScript, Python, Swift, Obj-C, .NET.
  • Adequate knowledge of web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services and Service Oriented Architectures, Microservices Architecture) and of network/web related protocols.
  • Thorough knowledge of systems, software development lifecycles, application integration techniques, object-oriented approaches, configuration management tools, and relational databases.
  • Have experience working in an agile programming environment whose members are working in multiple international locations and across multiple cultures.
  • Able to work flexible hours and weekends as needed. Able to travel abroad as needed to collaborate with international employees and meet project deadlines.
  • Be willing to learn new development processes and/or methodologies.
  • Capable of mentoring junior software developers.
  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineer.
